Your poem can look like anything, it doesn't have to be a sonnet, but it does have to follow iambic pentameter, at least for three subsequent lines somewhere in the poem. See how many lines you can get to fit the guidelines for iambic pentameter. You are tasked with creating a poem that uses at least three lines of iambic pentameter. For today's class activity we will practice writing poetry in iambic pentameter. Now this is not iambic pentameter, if this was iambic pentameter, what would it look like? Take the next five minutes to complete diagramming the meter of the song. You are to follow along on your lyric sheets and annotate the stressed and unstressed syllables.
